STARTING POINT - LEFT X-WING
using various cues such as the gaze of the statue, the landscape and the flare from the jet packs. I wanted to guide the eye to the X-wing on the far left.
JOURNEY STORYTELLING
Seeing as most Western Languages are read left to right I wanted my visual language to do the same.
A. The X-fighters must cross paths with the obstacle (A) which is a giant statue of this native planet. What I am trying to symbolize here is the reluctance of this very independant planet has in accepting the rebellion to fight the empire. Also I choose a bird-human like figure as a statue due to the fact the planet has lots of high mountains, so its inhabitants would most likely have birds in their folklore.
B. The fighters enter a very thin opening into the mountains. The inhabitants of this planet are concerned of foreign invasions so they built narrow entrance into old mineshafts to prevent large enemy ships from entering.
PRESSURE COMPOSITION
I wanted to show between the native inhabitants, the terrain and the empire the rebels are feeling the pressure.
