IMAGE COMPOSITION. EXPLAINED.
THOUGHT PROCESS
1. (Top Left) I wanted a piece that was somewhat calm and invoked the idea of self reflection. I thought the idea of calm water that literally had reflection would do this idea justice ( perhaps a little kitsch). Bond doesn't look directly at the Manor for he is "cool" and feels as if their is no imminent danger.
2. (Top Right) I wanted Bond to look small in front of his house so I choose a top down position. To add dramatic effect I added rain which also accentuates the dramatic one point perspective that has bond at its vanishing point ( which is the "smallest" point of a one point perspective).
3. (Bottom Left) I wanted to create tension between James bond and his past (the manor ). I decided to place a crashing river in between the two. The crashing waves on the left of James bond and the other one on the right side of the mansion also have the function of creating a "frame" of sorts to further remove the two subjects from the rocky terrain on the extreme far right and left. Additionally, between the two subjects ( Bond and the manor ) is a bridge that signifies Bond's intentions of connecting with the other subject ( the manor) . All in all, the scene should divulge that Bond wants to connect with his past but that it will be a bit turbulent.
4. (Bottom Right) The mood that I wanted to express was one of extreme danger. I added lightning, more so for the dramatic shadow it would cast on Bond then the actual illumination of the scene.
Hi here is my assignment. Please don't hesitate to give me feedback, don't worry about coming across mean, I won't take it personally :). I defiantly took some liberty vis-à-vis the time of day and the landscape but it is still Scottish.
